ATOR: Russia to develop tourist relations with Iran
MOSCOW, Sep 15 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to develop tourist relations with Iran, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said on its Web site on Thursday.
Hassan Saleh Majd, an advisor at the Iranian embassy in Russia, said that Russia and Iran currently operate eight–nine flights between the countries per week and plan to restore railroad traffic between Moscow and Tehran by 2018. Russia and Iran are also currently developing an agreement on a visa-free regime for tourist groups, which is expected to be prepared in 2017, he said.
“The diplomat also noted that Iran is particularly interested in more and more Russian tourists coming to Iran despite the fact that it is not the easiest direction due to strict religious laws,” ATOR said.
